State Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen Endorses Lanhee Chen for State Controller
Today, California Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen (District 72, Huntington Beach), the Vice-Chair of the Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee, endorsed Lanhee Chen for California State Controller.
“As a small business owner and an elected official, I know the value of balancing our budgets, keeping an eye on what we spend, and ensuring accountability for the decisions we make,” Assemblywoman Nguyen said. “Lanhee Chen will be California’s independent fiscal watchdog, who will be a champion for taxpayers in Orange County and throughout California. Lanhee will actually address our state’s policy challenges and I am proud to support him.”
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen and her family escaped communism on a small wooden 10-meter boat sailing across the South China Sea in search of freedom. After passing through numerous refugee camps, Janet and her family arrived in California in 1981. She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine and the Aspen Institute’s Aspen-Rodel Fellowship Leadership Program. She resides in Huntington Beach with her husband, Tom and two sons.
