Mountain View, Calif. – Lanhee Chen (@lanheechen), one of America’s leading fiscal policy experts, has seen an surge in early momentum in his campaign for California’s Controller since the launch just under two months ago, demonstrated by earning the endorsements of several of the state’s Congressional delegation and raising over $615,000 with $595,000 cash on hand.
“Californians are frustrated with the status quo and want a check on the one-party monopoly in Sacramento. We’re just getting started, but I’m both encouraged and honored by the tremendous support I’ve already received for my campaign to bring change to the State Controller’s Office,” Chen said. “I am particularly excited to gain the support of so many of our state’s leaders in Congress and look forward to working with them to bring my message of transparency, accountability, and independence to voters throughout our state.”
The Members of Congress endorsing Chen’s candidacy are:
House Republican Leader, Representative Kevin McCarthy
“Californians deserve to know exactly how their tax dollars are being spent, but right now, there is no accountability in Sacramento,” McCarthy said. “It’s time for a change; we need a strong, independent watchdog in Sacramento, like Lanhee Chen, protecting taxpayers from massive waste, fraud, and abuse caused by years of Democrat incompetence. Lanhee is a brilliant policy mind and proven problem solver who has spent his career tackling some of California and America’s biggest fiscal challenges. I know he can improve the lives of Californians as our State Controller, and I am proud to endorse him because of his unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability. We can count on Lanhee to fight for all of us.”
Representative Ken Calvert (CA-42)
“We need a conservative who will fight for taxpayers in Sacramento. Lanhee Chen will be a State Controller who will do just that. I am supporting Lanhee because I know he can put an end to the one-party monopoly in Sacramento and bring fiscal sanity back to our state.”
Representative Darrell Issa (CA-50)
“Lanhee Chen is one of the brightest minds in California. He’s a creative thinker, an insightful leader, and I know he will be a great Controller. He has what it takes to bring transparency to Sacramento and hold our out-of-control state government accountable. He has my full and complete endorsement.”
Representative Young Kim (CA-39) “California workers and families are leaving our state due to high taxes and costs of living. As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent effectively and as intended. Lanhee Chen is the strong conservative leader we need to fight for California taxpayers as Controller. I’m proud to support him.”
Representative Devin Nunes (CA-22) “For too long, California Democrats have protected one another instead of our state’s taxpayers. When Lanhee Chen is elected State Controller, that’s going to stop. Lanhee will end the one-party monopoly in Sacramento and go to work everyday as Controller to fight for all Californians. I’m proud to endorse his candidacy and encourage Republicans across our state to support him too.”
Representative Jay Obernolte (CA-08) “Lanhee Chen is the kind of leader California needs. As someone who’s built and grown a business in our state, I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility. Lanhee will bring accountability, transparency, and independence to Sacramento, which are desperately needed. I’m proud to endorse Lanhee as the right person to be California’s next Controller.”
Representative Michelle Steel (CA-48) “There is no more qualified person to be California’s next State Controller than Lanhee Chen. His blend of experience, intellect, and integrity are what’s needed in Sacramento to fight the fraud and mismanagement we see throughout our state. I am endorsing Lanhee’s candidacy because I know that he will serve California’s taxpayers well and be a Controller that we can all be proud of.”
